The announcement that JARDesign's second aircraft would be the A330-243, is by and large a natural extension of the A320neo and a perfect fit in every respect. But over the years the aircraft has become one of the very best in simulation and that has been mostly by the constant improvements and new features that has kept this aircraft ahead of the pack and created now one of the best experiences in X-Plane. At that time it was also slightly buggy, certainly in its flight modeling and profiles. When the aircraft was first released in December 2012 it created new ground in detailing and features that pushed X-Plane to the next level in flying immersion and systems, it was without doubt a new yardstick in design. JARDesign is well known for their excellent (if slightly misnamed) A320neo as it should be the A320ceo (current engine option). If you want a challenge go get the MD-80, but if you want a realistic aircraft that does have a few small issues that are being updated regularly, and you want to spend time studying this aircraft, the A330 is a great starting study aircraft.Aircraft Review : Airbus A330-243 by JARDesign Flying the Airbus A330 in X-Plane 10 is fun, but as anyone will tell you this aircraft practically can fly itself and land itself as long as you take the time to program and setup the aircraft according to procedures. The camera movement is slow, but you get the flight desk as well as the entire cabin and passenger cabin is modeled, so enjoy. Otherwise this aircraft flies just as expected, and feels nice and big as the A330 should feel. Just be aware that the X-Life ATC Deluxe feature likes to force multiple go arounds on approaches and it gets annoying sometimes. Using the wonderful X-Life for AI traffic and the Deluxe version of Ground Handling adds a level of realism to your flights. If you are forced to change your arrival ILS runway mid flight, expect to have to self correct the flight until the AP can reestablish itself correctly. This was also an issue in the Aerosoft A321 aircraft as well. The Fly By Wire system works as expected, but mid flight changes in the MCDU seem to throw off the computer and it messes with the flight path. The HOT Start option is great for getting this baby up and ready to take off with little to no setup. Reading the flight manual, all 300 pages of it, helps if you want to study this aircraft. The panels all work, except the 3rd lower console MCU, but the MCDU for programming a flight plan and settings is good, but took a few minutes to figure out as it was slightly different from the Aerosoft version I was used to using. The aircraft flies very well, and although the default sound files get the job done, I recommend the upgraded Sound Addons from Blue Sky Sounds for the A330. The checklist is spot on, and is responsive to your following of the checklist. Having flown the Airbus A321 extensively I knew the procedures well even before getting this aircraft. The user uses the plane together with other plugins at your own risk.Ĭoming fro the FSX and Prepar3d sims with Aerosoft Airbus A319,320, and 321's I was happy to finally see the A330 meet with X-Plane. We make no guarantee of successful operation of the JD330 plugin with any other plug-ins and not test them for compatibility. Rest assured that these plugins may affect the the JD330 plugin. Each of them eat memory and some framerate. Sometimes people use a lot of X-Plane plugins, and install new plugins unnecessarily. For this reason, this product MUST NOT be used for reallife 330 pilots training in real world aviation! The team of developers has the right to keep in a product all these simplifications and discrepancies which can be considered as necessary. In another words, no 100% guarantees of compliance to the real world prototype. But in some systems we have used a number of simplifications. Yes, we tried to make the system as close as possible to the real and emulate the most of the aircraft systems. Systems done: Aircond Press Vent, Aircraft General, APU, Auto Flight, Communications, Doors, Electrical, Equipment, Flight Controls, Fuel, Hydraulic, Ice and Rain Protection, Indicating Recording Systems, Landing Gear, Lights, Navigation, Oxygen, Pneumatic, Power Plant It is not guaranteed but it works usually. Actually one key allows user to accomplish up to four back-up activations. Buying this product in the store user gets the key (serial number) which allows to activate one copy on one computer (with one computer hardware configuration and one operation system installed). The model archive doesn’t include flight tutorials and liveries, for that - please visit DOCs and LIVERIEs part of our forum and get it for free. Right after the payment is cleared, you will get a link to download the ZIP distributive and your personal serial number. X-Life Deluxe traffic plugin compatible. You can use JARDesign "Ground Handling" plugin with JD330 for free.
